Leading from the inside out – connection, clarity and creativity

Explore and cultivate the inner capacities you as a leader need to meet outer complexity and uncertainty.
A leadership retreat over three days of stillness, movement and connection at Frötuna gård, 29–31 January 2027.

For you who lead – a team, an organisation, a context – and long for more clarity and connection: with yourself, with others, and perhaps also with something greater.

We live in a time when the maps we are used to no longer hold. What was fixed is moving, and what could be predicted no longer can. Yet in the midst of it there is still something to lean on – not outside us, but within us: connection with ourselves and with each other.

This retreat is for you who are in the midst of, or curious about, such an inner journey – and who want it to show in how you actually lead. Here you meet other leaders who recognise themselves in great responsibility, high tempo and complex questions, and who also need a place to land and reflect.

Our premise is simple: how you lead is bound up with how you are within. How you meet uncertainty, conflict and pressure at work mirrors how you meet yourself. Sometimes we are run by old patterns that once protected us but now limit us. But we can also find a place within us that stays calm even when it storms around us.

From a place of presence and connection, it becomes easier to tell noise from signal and to hear our own voice, our values and our longing. They can guide us in who we want to be – for ourselves and for others – and in what we want to contribute to, in both the small and the large contexts.

During the retreat you explore, together with other leaders and in a safe environment, the inner capacities and practices that underpin sustainable leadership:

  • Presence and self-awareness – meditation, self-regulation and reflection on the patterns that run you under stress and uncertainty
  • Compassion and connection – with yourself and with those you meet in your leadership
  • Inner compass and courage – deeper connection with what matters to you as a leader, and the courage to act in line with it
  • Creativity and proactivity – moving from autopilot to intention, and from reacting to responding more creatively

We alternate short inputs, exercises, dialogue and personal reflection – stillness and movement. We draw inspiration from, among others, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), IDG (Inner Development Goals), IPNB (interpersonal neurobiology), nervous-system regulation and contemplative practices.

Day 1 – Land

Presence, self-awareness and compassion

We start at 9.30 am. We arrive, land and together create a safe context. Through simple exercises in presence, self-regulation and connection, we begin to notice how we are – in the body, in our thoughts and in meeting others. The day ends with dinner and a quiet evening.

Day 2 – Explore

Patterns, connection and inner compass

Morning practice before breakfast. During the day we explore the patterns that run us under stress and uncertainty, and how they affect our connection with ourselves and those we lead. We deepen our connection with what matters to us – our values and our longing as leaders. Before dinner there is time for rest and the estate's hamam. The evening is given to reflection and conversation.

Day 3 – Direct

Courage, creativity and proactivity

Morning practice before breakfast. We gather what we've discovered and turn our gaze forward: What do I want to take with me into my everyday life and my leadership? How do I move from autopilot to intention when it matters? The retreat ends around 4 pm.

The programme is provisional and may be adjusted.

Voices

Voices on Gabriella's work with leaders

This is the first time the retreat is offered openly to leaders from different organisations. Here are some voices from leaders Gabriella has worked with through organisational and speaking engagements.

”When we checked in yesterday we said we wanted new energy. We really got it, but in a completely different way than we'd imagined. It's the first time we are fully present, truly listening and sharing our different perspectives and worlds. It feels like sustainable energy, a bit like slow, nutritious carbohydrates.”

— Management-team member, tech company

”You didn't just create the safety in the group I'd hoped for – you showed once again how you sense a room and took us all one level further on the journey towards becoming better leaders.”

— CEO, creative agency

”Thanks for the tip about the masterclass with Gabriella. What a woman! WOW! I just want to hear more about how we can take this further.”

— CEO, conference participant

”You guided us through some very choppy waters with professionalism, good humour, grace, and wisdom, and you somehow made even the hardest conversations feel both safe and productive. Because of your patience and insight, we’re walking away feeling clearer, braver, and far better equipped for the next chapter.”

— Management-team member, creative agency

”What a brilliant day we had! Maybe my expectations were low – after all these years you've been through your share of team development – but this was something else! Exciting and useful!”

— Team member, tech company

”Thanks for bringing Gabriella to the agency! I think she is spot on. Really good at turning the leadership theories into practical tools.”

— Management-team member, communications agency

”Many thanks for yesterday! It was greatly appreciated by the whole management team and a perfect start for us on our strategy day.”

— CEO, healthcare company

”I can't stress enough how good this was! Just as my colleague C mentioned on the spot, it was exactly what they needed to hear, and much of it showed in our leadership lab in the afternoon. Many thanks for a wonderful contribution!”

— Client, healthcare group

”I'm so glad it was you, Gabriella, who came and spoke – exactly right, and it landed perfectly with our managers. Several have come up to me to say how interesting and important they found your talk.”

— Head of communications, public administration

”We got so much more than a speaker when we chose you, Gabriella – you really took a holistic approach and helped us create a common thread through the whole day, where your opening set such a good tone for what followed in the programme.”

— Municipal chief executive, municipality

”This has been the most challenging and instructive process I've been through, and it has been invaluable to have Gabriella along the way. One word that describes her well is ‘all-terrain'.”

— HR director, finance company
